The leadership of Zamfara NLC has begged Governor Bello Matawalle to allow for the implementation of annual increments to state civil servants as part of the effort to boosting their morale.
The Chairman of the Union Comr. Sani Haliru who made the appeal on behalf of the state workers said “such increment is the only way civil servant will see something adding weight into his monthly take home pay”.
He also pleaded with the Governor to see to the possibility of implementation of the (N30,000) minimum wage as part of the long-term agitation by the union.
Comr. Sani Haliru who stated that the labour union is fully aware of the financial constraints faced by the state explained that as union they knew very well that the Governor has a goodwill for the state civil servants.
“We have to specially thank you because since your coming, there is no month that passes without civil servants getting their end of the month salaries”.
The labour leader who was not clear about what transpired between the union and government admitted “your excellency mistakes were made because of communication gap but as a leader, you have to accept us and forget our mistakes”.
