ZAMFARA POLICE COMMAND DENIES ABDUCTION OF 317 FEMALE PUPILS,

Zamfara State Police Command has reported that contrary to the initial figure of the abducted school girls in Jangebe which was given at 317, the actual figure is 279.

CP abutu Yaro while addressing journalist on Friday declared that a total of 317 girls were abducted by the suspected gunmen at Government Girls Secondary School Jangebe based on the figure given to him by the Principal of the school.

But in a statement issued to journalists on Tuesday by the state police command public relations officer SP Shehu Muhammad said, the 217 students abducted have been returned safely and Zamfara State Governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle accompanied by the State Police Commissioner Abutu Yaro received the abducted students.

SP Shehu Muhammad said, the victims are currently receiving medical attention from the joint medical team of the state government and that of police.

He further said, detectives from the state CID led by DC investigation are currently debriefing the affected victims with a view to tapping accurate information of how the incidence occured.

SP Shehu said the ground and aerial surveillance strategies deployed by the Inspector General of Police would continue to be sustained while assuring the people of the state that, investigation in to cause of the matter has commenced and appropriate sanctions would be applied to any culprits identified.

He said, CP Abutu Yaro had congratulated Zamfara State Governor, the parents of the abductees and indeed the entire people of the state for the safe recovery of the children.

SEN. YARI DONATES (13) TRUCKS OF MAIZE TO PEOPLE OF TALATAR MAFARA

Former Governor of Zamfara state and Senator representing Zamfara West, Hon. Dr. Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar (Shattiman Zamfara) has secured (13) trucks of Maize containing (3900) bags for distribution to his immediate community of Talatar Mafara.

The distribution is to be handled by the (11) man committee headed by Malam Hamza Abubakar.

A total of 68 communities consisting of 21,075 households will benefit with a total of 3900 bags of Maize.

According the chairman, the beneficiaries cut across religious devices as instructed by the donor Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar.

According to the committee Chairman, former Governor Yari has considered the social condition of the people emanating from the removal of fuel subsidy by the current administration.

He assured that, the committee will be just and fair in the discharge of their duties.

He called on people to give them maximum support and cooperation in the discharged of their duty in order to achieve the desire success.

(31) PEOPLE DIES, (274) SUSTAIN INJURIES IN ADAMAWA ROAD CRASHES.

The Federal Road Safety Corp Adamawa state command has revealed that a total of (31) people died as a result of various road crashes within the state.

The statistics also showed that, a total of (274) people also sustained various degree of injuries as a result of the road crashes.

The Adamawa sector command also recorded (126) various road crashes involving (548) passengers within the period under review.

The statistics covered a period of January to July 2023.

The sector commandant of the state, Mr. Yelwa Dio when he interacted with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

He attributed the road crashes to over-loading, over speeding and making telephone calls while driving.
