ZAMFARA POLICE COMMISSIONER PARADES SUSPECTED FUEL SUPPLIER TO BANDITS

Zamfara State Police Commissioner Ayuba Elkana has announced the successful arrest of one Haladu Abdullahi Dan-Isah who is accused of using his Boxer motorcycle to be supplying petroleum substance to bandits.

The Commissioner who spoke during a Press Conference said, police operatives attached to the special task force charge with responsibility of ensuring compliance with the new measures intercepted the accused person.

The CP said the suspect usually used his Boxer motorcycle and go to various filling stations to purchase fuel and sales to the bandits at the cost of (N400) naira per liter.

He said the suspect is undergoing investigation to enable the police to trace his gang members and charged them to court.

He also said, police in confidence building along Dogon Ruwa area of Maru local government area of Zamfara State intercepted one Sani Musa a victim who informed the police that exactly two weeks ago some bandits invaded Awala village in Kaura Namoda village and abducted him.

Elkana said, the victim has been undergoing medication and would soon be reunited with his family.

The CP also announced the rescue of (6) victims of kidnapping who were from Udawa village of Chukun local government area of Kaduna state.

He said they were kidnapped along Dansadau area by the bandits armed with AK (47) rifles while working on their farmlands and have been in captivity for days.

He added that they were rescued by the police in Maru and would soon be handed over to CP Kaduna after their clinical check up for them to be reunited with their families.

He also revealed that, on the 19th of August 2021 kidnappers led by their Kingpin Yello Mai Bille stormed a village in Anka local government area of Zamfara State and kidnapped (9) victims and took them to Gidan Alhaji Village of Bindin in Maru local government area of the state.

He noted that (2) of the victims were successfully rescued, while effort has been intensified to rescue the remaining victims.

The CP also announced that, on the 19th of September 2021 police in Talatar Mafara led by their DPO responded to intelligence by arresting one Hassi a native of Gusau who migrated and bought a house at Yar Tsakkuwa area an outskirt of Talatar Mafara local government.

He said, the suspects according to the residents of the area had been accommodating stringent persons with questionable behaviors adding that one suspect by name Haliru Lawali who was accommodated by the woman and who claimed to be a voucher escaped through the window when he sighted the police who came for operation.

According to Elkana the suspect Hassi Abdullahi and her daughter Zulaihat Abubakar have been arrested alongside a (15) year kidnapped victim Khairat Sanusi who claimed to be from Bena in Kebbi State but abducted and took to same house belonging to Malama Hassi.

He said she had narrated how she was kidnapped and police discovered a locally made gun belonging to the fleeing kidnapping suspect, adding that investigation has already commenced in respect of the matter.
