ZAMFARA POLICE REACT TO KILLING OF DPO AND TWO OTHERS

Zamfara Police command has condoled with the families of the Divisional Police Officer Mr Kazeem Raheem and Inspector Rabiu Umar who were killed on Sunday morning by some suspected armed bandits who attacked Maru town.

In a statement by the Police Spokesperson SP Shehu Muhammad the state Police Commissioner CP Kolo Yusuf described the killing of the police officers as unfortunate and something unpardonable.

“On 5th March, 2023 at about 0200hrs, Bandits in large numbers, armed with sophisticated weapons attacked Maru Division with the intent to destabilize the security architecture of the town to easily attack and abduct members of the community. However, the DPO and team gallantly put up a strong resistance to repel the attackers. Unfortunately, himself and the above named Inspector lost their lives while protecting the public”.

“The CP gave the reassurance while condoling with the families of late SP kazeem Raheem, Divisional Police Officer (DPO) Maru Division, and Inspector Rabi’u Umar attached to the Division who paid the supreme price during a fierce confrontation with suspected bandits in Maru”.

“The Commissioner of Police Zamfara State Police Command, CP Kolo Yusuf psc, has reassured the Public of the Command’s continuous commitment to protecting their lives and property in the state”.

“The Commissioner of Police has deployed reinforcement to pursue the fleeing hoodlums and arrest them for investigation and prosecution. Similarly, The Deputy Commissioner of Police Operations, DCP Iliyasu Kwarbai led another Police tactical team to the scene for on the spot assessment and confidence building patrol”.

“The Commissioner of Police further prays Almighty Allah to repose the departed souls and give their families and relations the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss”.

SEN. YARI DONATES (13) TRUCKS OF MAIZE TO PEOPLE OF TALATAR MAFARA

Former Governor of Zamfara state and Senator representing Zamfara West, Hon. Dr. Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar (Shattiman Zamfara) has secured (13) trucks of Maize containing (3900) bags for distribution to his immediate community of Talatar Mafara.

The distribution is to be handled by the (11) man committee headed by Malam Hamza Abubakar.

A total of 68 communities consisting of 21,075 households will benefit with a total of 3900 bags of Maize.

According the chairman, the beneficiaries cut across religious devices as instructed by the donor Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar.

According to the committee Chairman, former Governor Yari has considered the social condition of the people emanating from the removal of fuel subsidy by the current administration.

He assured that, the committee will be just and fair in the discharge of their duties.

He called on people to give them maximum support and cooperation in the discharged of their duty in order to achieve the desire success.

(31) PEOPLE DIES, (274) SUSTAIN INJURIES IN ADAMAWA ROAD CRASHES.

The Federal Road Safety Corp Adamawa state command has revealed that a total of (31) people died as a result of various road crashes within the state.

The statistics also showed that, a total of (274) people also sustained various degree of injuries as a result of the road crashes.

The Adamawa sector command also recorded (126) various road crashes involving (548) passengers within the period under review.

The statistics covered a period of January to July 2023.

The sector commandant of the state, Mr. Yelwa Dio when he interacted with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

He attributed the road crashes to over-loading, over speeding and making telephone calls while driving.
