As search and rescue of the abducted female students of Government Girls Secondary School Jangebe in Zamfara State continues, the remaining 66 students left by the bandits have been evacuated.
A source who spoke with the Thunder Blowers on condition of anonymity said the parents of the remaining 66 girls stormed Jangebe town and evacuated their children out of the town.
“Parents have lost hope in the ability of the government to provide adequate protection for their children and instead mobilized largely after hearing about the incident to pick their children out of Jangebe’ the source added.
The source also said members of the vigilante have made concerted effort to track down at the bandits but could not go further due to lack of strong re-enforcement.
“One of the vigilante member who went for rescue informed us that they have sighted the bandits and make an attempt to fight them in the forest but have to track back because the number of soldiers attached to them are not enough”. The source added.
He said they have succeeded in retrieving two motorcycles belonging to the bandits and brought them to Jangebe.
As at the th time of filing this story no single abducted student has either escaped or returned to Jangebe but noted that members of the vigilante are currently meeting to restrategize on the rescue operation and also tight their fence with the militaty and police to move back to the forest.
Another source said based on the information reaching the people the kidnappers are in between Maru-Bungudu and Anka forest and if the security agencies can hasten up the abductors can trap tracked before they moved out of Zamfara forest.
Meanwhile, another source said, the community have mobilized to reinforce their internal security to prevent another face of attack even as conventional security operatives are seen visibly moving around the community while youth in their large number mounted an invisible road block to prevent government officials, and other visitors from accessing the town.
