The Special Taskforce constituted by Zamfara state government to look into perennial fuel shortage in Zamfara has visited the State Deputy Governor Sen. Hassan Muhammad Nasiha to brief him on the interim measures put in place by the committee since its inauguration.
Chairman of the committee Barr. Abdulrashid Haruna who led the nine-man committee to visit the state Deputy Governor said the measures put in place by the taskforce have helped in reducing the hardship encountered by the motorists since the crises of fuel shortage started.
The members of the taskforce said, they ensure regular visit and inspection to all filing stations and make sure that all filing stations with the product have released it for sale.
According to the statement by the Deputy Governor’s Spokesperson Babangida Umar Zurmi, the Deputy Governor Sen. Hassan Muhammad Nasiha urged them to sustain their good effort and work extraordinary harder to ensure that fuel is made available for sales to customers and also prevent price escalation.
Nasiha expressed happiness with the manners at which the committee was able to restore sanity among all the filing stations belonging to major and independent marketers saying the performance is commendable.
