Governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle said, with the effort and consultation he has been making with critical stakeholders in the mining and solid minerals industry, Zamfara State will soon emerged as one of the richest states in Nigeria.
The Governor made the declaration when he received the Ooni of Ife His Royal Majesty, the Ooni of Ife, Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwisi Ojaja 11 who paid him a courtesy visit in his private residence in Abuja
In a statement by the Governor’s Special Adviser on Public Enlightenment Media and Communication Malam Zailani Bappa the Governor promised to continue to lead by example and to always put the common man foremost in his heart as he steers the affairs of the state to the end of his tenure.
He thanked the monarch for the visit and for awarding him the title of “Obapero of Ife-Odua” and promised to be in Ife himself for the turbaning.
Earlier the Ooni of Ife, Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwisi Ojaja said the title of Obapero of Ife-Odua which literally means”the peace maker” was bestowed on the Governor considering his exceptional leadership qualities and passion for unity of purpose.
The Ooni extolled the good virtues of Governor Matawalle as a de-tribalised leader and politician, pointing out that his good intention was responsible for his success in bringing peace to the troubled state he inherited.
He said the quality of Matawalle’s leadership is worth emulating by all Governors in Nigeria because he has not only proved to be an abled leader to his people by restoring peace in the state but also a worthy leader to others as he now serves as a bridge builder across the Niger.
He further said the plans of Governor Matawalle to revolutionalise the mining sector in the state is a unique and courageous approach which will turn the fortunes of the country around.
Responding, Governor Bello Mohammed expressed his gratitude to the Monarch for the title bestowed on him and promised to be in Ife very soon to be formally turbaned.
