A truck loaded with provision stocks alongside the driver and his aide which was earlier abducted by some suspected bandits along Gusau-Magami road was released after payment of ransom to the kidnappers.
A source who confided on this medium stated that the sum of two million naira was paid by the traders of Magami before they could get the truck released by the abductors.
While in captivity, the source said the bandits used the personal handset of the driver to send a WhatsApp chat to the owners of provision materials that the sum of two million naira has to be paid before the drivers and truck can be released.
He further said after the release of the truck by the bandits, soldiers moved into the forest and recovered the truck and drove it to Magami where they are presently awaiting the next step.
Effort to speak to the police as at the time of filing this report was not successful.
