Zamfara state government has directed Multi-Plus investment Limited the contractor handling the construction of a township road linking Gusau Hotel with Samaru cemetery in Gusau the state capital to mobilize back to site with immediate effect.
The directive was issued when a powerful state government delegation from the ministry of works and the directorate of housing visited the area to see things for themselves.
The delegation expressed concern with the way the contractor abandoned the project site without due notice, adding that he has to mobilize back to site on or before this coming Friday (tomorrow).
Part of the dangers in the non completion of the road project according to the delegation include, possibility of getting more houses along the project site destroyed by expected flooding as well as chances of teenage boys losing their lives as a result of the poor condition of the project site.
The delegation also expressed concern on the manners in which residents of the area are laying structures along the waterway noting that such attitude is always constituting threat to the government.
They have also expressed concern with inadequate space for the erection of electric poles hence the majority of where the poles are erected now is part of the designated areas where the road project would pass through.
The leader of the delegation who doubled as the state commissioner for works Eng. Ibrahim Isah Mayana called on the residents of the area to as a matter of patriotism desist from erecting structures along waterways and always give enough space where electric poles would be erected when they are putting on their housing structures.
