Zamfara State government had threatened to deal decisively with any government ministries or parastatals that deal with non governmental organizations henceforth.
State Commissioner for Security and Home Affairs (Rtd) DIG Mamman Tsafe who stated this via a statement he personally signed noted that “government has observed with utmost dismay, the recent high influx of Non-Governmental Organisations into the state, carrying out illegal activities that contravened the existing laws of government.
The statement further noted that majority of these illegal NGOs have not registered with the state in line with the laid down rules and regulations of government.
Tsafe added that some of them have also been found to be engaging in activities fueling insecurity in the state and its neighbourhood.
He added that all NGO’s operating in Zamfara are ordered to pack their things and leave the state.
He warned that punitive measures are going to be instituted against any MDA that defied such an order from the government.
The statement further stated that, security Agencies in the state are by this announcement directed to be vigilante to the NGOs, investigate and prosecute any NGO operating in the state without due clearance from designated authorities.
