Over 2000 Internally Displaced Persons have been crying for intervention as they suffered all forms of humanitarian crises at the Kwatarkwashi Government Secondary School.
Their condition call for immediate concern by the authorities as they cried lacking so many things including food, and other basic social amenities.
One of the IDP’s from Mada district Isah Bala said, they were chased out of their homes by over one hundred bandits who have invaded their village with deadly weapons and because of the fear of the in human activities of the bandits he and many other households left the village and take refuge at Kawatarkwashi Government Secondary School.
Another IDP Isah Muhammadu said he and his three wives have been taking refuge at Kwatarkwashi for almost a week because armed bandits have issued them with notice to leave the village completely or be killed.
Mariya Abu another IDP said many of the women at the Kwatarkwashi camp cannot explain the whereabout of their husbands and family relations as some of them moved beyond Kwatarkwashi expecting that even Kwatarkwashi may not be safer.
She said there are over twenty persons from their community who had been with the abductors for days and expressed fear that unless adequate security personals are deployed to take charge of the security of their villages they may not know when to reunite back again.
On the condition of the Kwatarkwashi IDP camp, One Babangida Kwatarkwashi said households in Kwatarkwashi have to be supporting them with food and other social utensils including detergents and medicine needed for human survival.
He said some wealthy individuals provided from time to time food stuffs to the IDP’s even as he told this medium that ZEMA officials also supported these people twice since they have taken over the school facility as their camp.
He added that based on the information they have at hand, the IDP’s are from over 20 different communities surrounding Kwatarkwashi and Mada.
