Kano State Police Commissioner CP Habu A Sani is to lead other senior police officers sent from the force headquarters Abuja in conducting Bakura State Assembly bye election scheduled for Saturday the 5th of December 2020.
State Police Commissioner Usman Nagogo who declared this in a statement signed by the command Public Relations Officer SP Shehu Muhammad said police had also enforce restriction of movement from 12:00am to 6:00pm on Saturday.
SP Shehu said the command has so far deployed 2,300 police personnel and other sister security agents to provide security at the (114) polling units and nine voting points in the election area.
The Commissioner of Police reiterated that there won’t be both vehicular and pedestrian movement in and out of Bakura local government during the elections except those on election duties, essential services and accredited domestic and foreign election observers.
The CP also warned that no police aides or security agents will be allowed to escort their principals to the polling units or any movement while the elections is going on noted that any security aides violating this directive will be arrested and made to face the full wrath of the law.
SP Shehu said the CP election duty has since assumed duty.
