BURATAI AT FASKARI KATSINA STATE, FOR 2020 ARMY DAY CELEBRATION

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai has declared that the Nigerian Army developed some new tactical strategies that will be used to deal decisively with criminal elements that have been causing serious insecurity in the country.

Gen. Buratai stated this at Faskari local government in Katsina State at a Press briefing to kick start the activities marking the 2020 Nigerian Army
Day Celebration on Wednesday.

He said the 2020 celebration is organized with the sole aim of reviewing the activities of the Nigerian Army and which usually come with series of events to help showcase the capacity of the Nigerian Army in the protection of Nigeria’s territorial integrity and unity.


“We are aware that some persons are making different allegations against security operations and l want to tell you that all the allegations are false and a diversion to the fight against armed banditry and other criminal activities” Buratai added.

Buratai further declared that, “I want to assure Nigerians that we will continue to deal squarely with all unrepentant bandits that are living either in the bushes or hiding within communities”.

He said he against dialogue with the bandits who always believe killing innocent souls is the only language they understand adding that the army will sustained military action against the unrepentant bandits in till they are wiped away.


He said in the next one week, troops under “Exercise Sahel Sanity” would continue to comb the bushes spanning acrosa Katsina, Zamfara and Sokoto states so that peace can be restored back soonest.


The term of  this year’s Army Day Celebration is “Nigeria’s Territorial Defence and Sovereignty: Imperatives for Nigerian Army’s Sustained Training and Operations”.

Activities for this year’s annual event was however shortened due the Corona virus pandemic and converted into media event, visitations and distribution of palliatives among others which would simultaneously hold in all the 36 states of the federation and would be rounded up on Tuesday.

SEN. YARI DONATES (13) TRUCKS OF MAIZE TO PEOPLE OF TALATAR MAFARA

Former Governor of Zamfara state and Senator representing Zamfara West, Hon. Dr. Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar (Shattiman Zamfara) has secured (13) trucks of Maize containing (3900) bags for distribution to his immediate community of Talatar Mafara.

The distribution is to be handled by the (11) man committee headed by Malam Hamza Abubakar.

A total of 68 communities consisting of 21,075 households will benefit with a total of 3900 bags of Maize.

According the chairman, the beneficiaries cut across religious devices as instructed by the donor Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar.

According to the committee Chairman, former Governor Yari has considered the social condition of the people emanating from the removal of fuel subsidy by the current administration.

He assured that, the committee will be just and fair in the discharge of their duties.

He called on people to give them maximum support and cooperation in the discharged of their duty in order to achieve the desire success.

(31) PEOPLE DIES, (274) SUSTAIN INJURIES IN ADAMAWA ROAD CRASHES.

The Federal Road Safety Corp Adamawa state command has revealed that a total of (31) people died as a result of various road crashes within the state.

The statistics also showed that, a total of (274) people also sustained various degree of injuries as a result of the road crashes.

The Adamawa sector command also recorded (126) various road crashes involving (548) passengers within the period under review.

The statistics covered a period of January to July 2023.

The sector commandant of the state, Mr. Yelwa Dio when he interacted with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

He attributed the road crashes to over-loading, over speeding and making telephone calls while driving.
