The suspended Imam of Apo Jumu’at legislative quarters Abuja Sheikh Nurudeen Khalid has reacted to the news making round the media that he has been suspended from his role as the Chief Imam of the mosque by the Sen. Dansadau led committee saying he first heard the news of the development on the media platforms.
But he said unless authorities have shown to him which part of his comment is inciting to the national security, he may not know which of the statement to withdraw. He added that he has made several statements during the sermon.
“I expected them to call my attention that you have done this and that, and this is where you are wrong, and instead they went to the radio station and announced my suspension”
When asked if he is going to continue with his lectures and teaching, Sheik Khalid said, “I was suspended from leading the prayer not from teaching or delivering lectures, so we will continue with our lecture surely”.
He said he is not going to contest this issue with anyone, but he advised Sen. Dansadau whom he described as elderly statesman to revisit the social media and see what Nigerians are saying about him and from there he would know the danger involved in asking Nigerians not talk about the issue of insecurity.
