Heavy downpour has caused a serious economic losses for over one hundred households in Anka Local Government area of Zamfara State.
The downpour which lasted for several hours according to some sources has caused the collapse of dozens of housing and business structures and rendered many households homeless.
Anka Local Government is one of the few local government areas which is topographically surrounded by water especially with its popular Anka river which usually recieved excessive water flow through various river channels within and outside the state.
Some of the areas affected by the flooding in Anka town include Hayin Banki down to Genu area reaching up to Anka Cemetery. Other areas include Gidan Ruwa/Bagaruwa of Shiyar Magaji area and also Limanci traversing to Township Model Primary School Anka
In order to show sympathy to the victims of the flooding, Emir of Zamfaran Anka Alh Attahiru Muhammad Ahmad in company of some of the members of his entourage paid an assessment visit to some of the areas affectes by the flooding as well as sympathized with them over the tragedy.
Though no live was lost to the disaster it was gathered that, the flooding has displaced over 100 houses and perimeter fencing while several households that were rendered homeless are left with no option than to take refuge in the houses of some of their relations and love ones considering the facts that some of the public schools within the town are all occupied by refugees chased away by the activities of the bandits.
