Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle has condoled the state legislative arm of government and members of the family of late Hon. Tukur Jekada Birnin Tudu who died this afternoon.
The Governor expressed shock with the sudden death of the legislature after battling with an illness for close to a month.
The Governor in a statement by the Governors Special Adviser on Public Enlightenment Media and Communications Malam Zailani Baffa described “the demise of Hon. Tukur as a great loss to the state, to the Legislature and particularly his family who have supported his career for the benefit of democracy in the state”.
He said “the absence of Hon. Tukur will be felt by his colleagues and the entire machinery of government in the state especially with the positive contributions he was making to the enthronement of good governance for the benefit of his people who elected him and the state at large”.
Governor Matawalle urged the family of the deceased to bear the loss with courage and prayed for God Almighty to have mercy upon his soul.
Late Hon. Tukur Jekada, was a teacher and later a politician. He served as Special Adviser to the former PDP governor Alhaji Mamuda Shinkafi and now elected as member representing Bakura constituency in the state Legislature under the present PDP administration of Governor Bello Mohammed.
He died at the age of 65 leaving behind three wives and many children.
