GOVERNOR MATAWALLE CONGRATULATE JUSTICE LAWAL GARBA ON ELEVATION TO SUPREME COURT JUDGE

Governor Bello Mohammed (Matawallen Maradun) has congratulated Justice  Mohammed Lawal Garba for his recent elevation as one of the Justices of the Supreme Court.


Governor Matawalle said the elevation was well deserved as Justice Lawal has proven himself as an upright Judicial officer through out his working career without any blemish.


In a statement by Governor’s Special Adviser on Public Enlightenment Media and Communication Malam Zailani Bappa said, the Governor said the people are excited over the appointment of one of their own saying his elevation has raised the bar of Zamfara state to a high esteem.


“On behalf of myself, my family, the Government and people of the state, I wish to congratulate Your Lordship, Justice Mohammed Lawal Garba for your elevation to the position of a Supreme Court Judge”, Matawalle said. 


Justice Mohammed Lawal Garba, who is also the Shettiman Maru had his Primary and Secondary School education at Demonstration Primary School in Maru and Science Secondary School in Gusau respectively. He acquired his University degree in Law from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and was called to the Nigerian Bar after his one year training at the Nigerian Law School. 


He has worked in Sokoto State and in Zamfara state as a Chief Judge before moving to the Federal High Court. Later, he was elevated to the position of a Judge at the Federal Court of Appeal. He was the Chairman of the Presidential Elections Petitions Tribunal for 2019.

SEN. YARI DONATES (13) TRUCKS OF MAIZE TO PEOPLE OF TALATAR MAFARA

Former Governor of Zamfara state and Senator representing Zamfara West, Hon. Dr. Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar (Shattiman Zamfara) has secured (13) trucks of Maize containing (3900) bags for distribution to his immediate community of Talatar Mafara.

The distribution is to be handled by the (11) man committee headed by Malam Hamza Abubakar.

A total of 68 communities consisting of 21,075 households will benefit with a total of 3900 bags of Maize.

According the chairman, the beneficiaries cut across religious devices as instructed by the donor Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar.

According to the committee Chairman, former Governor Yari has considered the social condition of the people emanating from the removal of fuel subsidy by the current administration.

He assured that, the committee will be just and fair in the discharge of their duties.

He called on people to give them maximum support and cooperation in the discharged of their duty in order to achieve the desire success.

(31) PEOPLE DIES, (274) SUSTAIN INJURIES IN ADAMAWA ROAD CRASHES.

The Federal Road Safety Corp Adamawa state command has revealed that a total of (31) people died as a result of various road crashes within the state.

The statistics also showed that, a total of (274) people also sustained various degree of injuries as a result of the road crashes.

The Adamawa sector command also recorded (126) various road crashes involving (548) passengers within the period under review.

The statistics covered a period of January to July 2023.

The sector commandant of the state, Mr. Yelwa Dio when he interacted with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

He attributed the road crashes to over-loading, over speeding and making telephone calls while driving.
