A 30 year old man has been arrested by the operatives of National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) Sokoto command for allegedly having a homosexual affairs with (12) number of children between the ages of 8 and 14.
In an interview with the BBC Hausa service monitored by this medium, the Commandant of NAPTIP in Sokoto Mitika Mpa Ali explained that his command was briefed by the Sokoto State Hisbah Commission on the development and they outrightly went after the suspect.
He said at the stage of investigation after his arrest the suspect confessed to have committed the offence attributing it to an act of devil.
The Commandant noted that, the suspect confessed further that, someone in Niger state exposed him to the act of homosexuality.
He said the parent of the 12 children involved in the act would be invited by the Sokoto head office for questioning hence he insisted that once the alleged offence is established the suspect will be arraign in court.
He also said the affected children will be taken to a health facility for examination to ascertain their real health condition before they are handed down to their parents.
He noted further that, the arraignment of the suspect will serve as a lesson for others who may take advantage of the similar development to subject children of innocent people to this devil act.
