IMO POLICE COMMISSIONER PARADED SUSPECTS OF KIDNAPPING AND ARMED ROBBERY
The Imo State Police Command has paraded before the Newsmen some suspects arrested for various crimes.
The State Police Commissioner CP Rabiu Hussaini who addresses Newsmen said their offenses range from kidnapping, illegal possession of fire arms, car snatching and armed robbery.
He said part of the successes recorded was the arrest of (41) years kidnapped victim and recovery of his stolen Highlander SUV car by the anti-kidnapping operatives of the command.
The CP said the wife of the victim has confessed that they were about paying the sum of four million naira as ransom before her husband was released.
She commended the effort of the police for securing the release of her husband without paying a dime.
One of the kidnappers arrested was a Brazil returnee who said, his involvement in to the kidnapping activities was as a result of lack of job.
He said his car was used in the kidnapping, but however he regretted his action.
The Police Commissioner Rabiu Hussaini has, however, assured that, the command under his watch would continue to institute measures aimed at making Imo State secured.
He promised that as soon as investigation is concluded, the suspects would be arraigned before the court of law.
