The annual lectures on the returns of new Islamic calender year (1442) organized by Joint Youth Islamic Organization in Zamfara State took place on Sunday at the conference hall of Jibril Bala Yakubu Secretariat Gusau the state capital of Zamfara State.
The (1442) 2020 annual lectures has its theme as “History of Shehul Islam ibn Taimiyah and Shehul Islam ibn Qayyum”. The lecture was delivered by the prominent Islamic cleric in Zamfara state Sheikh Ahmad Umar Ibn Kanoma and the theme was chosen in recognition of the contributions of the two outstanding Islamic Scholars to the development of Islam.
Zamfara State Governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle represented by Secretary to the State Government Bala Bello Maru, commended the organizers for sustaining the annual lecture series and urged them to use their platform to continue to pray for the unity and return of lasting peace to Zamfara State.
The event also witnessed the launching of (1442) annual Islamic Calender where Maru Local Government Sole Administrator Salisu Isah Danguldbi represented the Chief launcher Alh Usman Dankalili Bakura.
Former State Deputy Governor Malam Ibrahim Wakkala Muhammad who was among the pioneer members of the Joint Youth Islamic Organization in the state had also attended the event.
The sum of five million and six hundred thousand naira was raised during the launching of the Islamic calender.
