“It appears to many people who are watching political events in Zamfara that the invitation of Mahadi Aliyu Gusau the Zamfara Deputy Governor by members of the state house of assembly may be an “invitation to political anarchy” as many opined that the members of the state house of assembly may be digging too many political graves for the Zamfara APC”
I have learned that, members of Zamfara State House of Assembly have invited the state Deputy Governor Mahadi Aliyu Gusau over a rally he allegedly conducted last week Saturday.
It’s not surprising when such a decision is taken by the members of the state house of assembly because many political analysts have predicted that Matawalle may not likely end his tenure with his east while Deputy Governor Mahadi Aliyu Gusau.
We had been hearing rumors that a script has been designed to frustrate Mahadi to either resign or be impeached by the members of the state house of assembly.
We have initially not taken that rumor to be something serious, but today’s pronouncement has putting a life to that rumor and palpable fear has started catching up with many people in Zamfara especially those from his political camp.
But to be very candid with Governor Bello Matawalle he needed to urgently call members of the state house of assembly to order because they are setting a very dangerous political precedent in the political development of the state.
Let Governor Bello Matawalle be politically conscious of the crises that trailed his defection, especially with the series of litigations awaiting him at the states and federal high courts, as well as the protest from the Yari faction of the APC.
Anybody who means well for the Governor would not want to see him being dragged into an unnecessary political crisis, especially at this trying moment of our history as a state.
Zamfara people are expecting stability and goodwill of the Governor Matawalle and his government not political face-off especially considering the high expectations of the people.
For us, politics should not be seen as a tool for human destruction and I think the defection of Bello Matawalle to the APC has proved this our theory to be active.
The same Governor who has been in a two-year battle with the APC members in the state is now in the same party dancing with the same people he has been fighting while in PDP.
If someone said Matawalle would ever join APC majority of Zamfara citizens may not buy in to that argument but because there is no certainty in politics the reality is prevailing on him.
As for the members of the state house of assembly, we are of the opinion that, they should play politics with caution because they are likely going to be used as scapegoats for achieving selfish political interest as the majority of them are likely going to be face out in the 2023 political arithmetic.
In an obvious voice, Governor Bello Matawalle should not cross the redlines of fighting Mahadi for morality and fairness to those who suffered with him in the PDP including Mahadi Aliyu Gusau.
