Members of Zamfara State House of Assembly have approved terms of references for the committee set up to investigate allegations of mismanagement of primary health care funds.
At the Tuesday’s plenary the Chairman of house committee on health and human medicine Abdulanseer Ibrahim Gayari prayed for the house to allow for adoption of terms of reference for the committee to enable them commences work immediately.
Among the terms and reference of the committee include, investigating all activities of the state primary health care board from inception to date and also make assessment of all internal and external funding received by the board.
Other terms of the committee include ascertaining how much money was appropriated to the board and how they were expended.
The committee is to also liaise with the federal ministry and other donor agencies on issues related to donations or any other funding made to the board, including the matching grant paid by the state government.
After extensive deliberation, the house accepted the proposal by the Chairman of the health committee and adopted the proposed terms.
The committee was also given thirty days in which to investigate and report their findings to the larger house for consideration.
