An average of 10.3% of Zamfara children are malnourished and the percentage is the highest in the country.
Zamfara NMA Chairman Dr. Mannir Bature Chafe declared this during a talk show in Gusau the Zamfara State capital.
Dr. Chafe said, the data for immunization coverage for Zamfara State is put at 28.2%, while delivery by Skills Birth attendants for Zamfara State was put at 14%.
He further said, Zamfara is only ahead of Sokoto State with only 28% in terms of artenatal coverage.
He added that, unless hands are put on deck to address the challenges affecting the health sector in the state, the indicators would continue to go as low as we do not expect.
