The Chairman of Nigerian Medical Association Zamfara State Chapter, Dr. Mannir Bature Chafe has declared that,
in the whole of Zamfara State there is no single CT Scan Machine that is being used in either public or private health facilities.
The NMA Chairman who spoke during a one day “Zamfara Talk Show” organized by Carrier and Literacy Consult a non-governmental organization said patients who are to conduct CT Scan are sent to General Hospital Katsina or Sokoto since there is no one in Zamfara State.
He also explained that, some General Hospitals in Zamfara do not have ordinary blood testing machines hence patients are infused with blood which is not tested and ascertained clinically.
He noted that, the challenges in the health sector are per beyond relying on the government hence he expressed the need for the well-to-do individuals to support the development of the health care system in the state.
Furthermore, he makes reference with what concern citizens of Kano have done especially in providing supporting health facilities to Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital and other health facilities in Kano State.
