OBASEKI PERFECT DEFECTION PLANS AS APC CRISIS WORSENES

All seems to be set for the Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki to cross to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The governor was busy on wednesday putting final arrangements in place towards his plans to pursue his re-election bid on the platform of the PDP.

Recall that Obaseki, who resigned his membership from the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Tuesday, hours before the Court of Appeal affirmed the suspension of the party’s National Chairman, Mr. Adams Oshiomhole, held several meetings with his PDP colleagues and the party’s National Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus in Abuja.

However, the All Progressive Congress (APC) leaders were also busy in their bid to subdue the lingering crisis rocking the party as an aftermath of Oshiomhole’s suspension as the party’s Deputy National Secretary, Chief Victor Giadom, laid claims to the leadership of the party.

Meanwhile, Giadom was later suspended by the National Working Committee of APC who had late Tuesday picked one of the party’s zonal deputies, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, to hold the fort for the embattled chairman.

To Mr. Giadom, his claim to the party’s chairmanship was anchored on a March order of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court.

Governor Obaseki and his colleagues from the PDP held a virtual conference ahead of his joining the party any time soon.

Former Governor of Zamfara state and Senator representing Zamfara West, Hon. Dr. Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar (Shattiman Zamfara) has secured (13) trucks of Maize containing (3900) bags for distribution to his immediate community of Talatar Mafara.

The distribution is to be handled by the (11) man committee headed by Malam Hamza Abubakar.

A total of 68 communities consisting of 21,075 households will benefit with a total of 3900 bags of Maize.

According the chairman, the beneficiaries cut across religious devices as instructed by the donor Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar.

According to the committee Chairman, former Governor Yari has considered the social condition of the people emanating from the removal of fuel subsidy by the current administration.

He assured that, the committee will be just and fair in the discharge of their duties.

He called on people to give them maximum support and cooperation in the discharged of their duty in order to achieve the desire success.

(31) PEOPLE DIES, (274) SUSTAIN INJURIES IN ADAMAWA ROAD CRASHES.

The Federal Road Safety Corp Adamawa state command has revealed that a total of (31) people died as a result of various road crashes within the state.

The statistics also showed that, a total of (274) people also sustained various degree of injuries as a result of the road crashes.

The Adamawa sector command also recorded (126) various road crashes involving (548) passengers within the period under review.

The statistics covered a period of January to July 2023.

The sector commandant of the state, Mr. Yelwa Dio when he interacted with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

He attributed the road crashes to over-loading, over speeding and making telephone calls while driving.
