Zamfara State Police Command says it has together with other critical stakeholders secured the unconditional release of the eighteen abducted students and staff of Zamfara State College of Agriculture and Animal Science, Bakura.
According to a statement by the Police Spokesperson in Zamfara SP Muhammad Shehu said, the victims were brought to the state government house Gusau on Friday by the police Commissioner Ayuba Elkana in company of other security agencies.
Shehu said Governor Bello Matawalle who was visibly emotional commended the police and other security agencies for ensuring the unconditional release of the victims.
According to Shehu the Governor further said, his administration has taken drastic measures aimed at curtailing the activities of criminals in the state and directed security agencies to ensure full compliance with the new directives.
The police Spokesperson said at the handing over of the victims, CP Ayuba Elkana appreciated the Governor for the support and encouragement rendered to the Police and those who assisted in the rescue of the abductees.
Shehu said as soon the victims are examined clinically, they would be reunited with their families.
