POLICE ARREST SUSPECTED KILLER OF MEDICAL DOCTOR IN ZAMFARA

Zamfara State Police Command has arrested one Abubakar Namalika in connection with the alleged murder of late Dr.Enoch Okpara. O. a consultant of Obstetrics /Gynecologist working at the Federal Medical Center Gusau.

Addressing Press Conference at the State Police Headquarters in Gusau, Commissioner of Police Usman Nagogo, said on the 5th July, 2020 the team of Policemen attached to Operation Puff Adder responded to a distress call and arrested Abubakar Namalika at Lalan area, Gusau while on a mission to kidnap one of their target.


In the course of interrogation, the Police Commissioner said, his men discovered that, Abubakar Namalika was of the prime Suspects who participated in the gruesome murder of Dr. ENOCH OKPARA at his residence in MARERI area, Gusau. 


CP Nagogo said, the Suspect has during the interogation confessed that, himself and four (4) other members of their syndicate group namely: Iro Tsoho, Dan Hajiya Smally, Alh Shehu Bagewaye, leader Maijan Ido bandits Camp, Awalu Banawa and Muhammad Jansaidi all of them at large allegedly committed the dastardly act. 


He further disclosed that, a notorious Bandits leader Alhaji Shehu Bagewaye, a leader of one of the dreaded bandits camp known as Mai Jan Ido forest in Gusami district of Kauran Namoda LGA sent them to the Doctor’s house to commit the crime under the guidance of one of his younger brother now at large.


CP Nagogo said effort is being intensified to ensure that the fleeing Suspects are apprehended and charge to court for prosecution. 

It would be recalled that on the 13th June, 2020, unidentified armed men invaded the house of one Dr. ENOCH OKPARA O. a Consultant of Obstetrics/Gynecologist attached to Federal Medical Center, Gusau and gruesomely murdered him and burnt his Corpse.

SEN. YARI DONATES (13) TRUCKS OF MAIZE TO PEOPLE OF TALATAR MAFARA

Former Governor of Zamfara state and Senator representing Zamfara West, Hon. Dr. Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar (Shattiman Zamfara) has secured (13) trucks of Maize containing (3900) bags for distribution to his immediate community of Talatar Mafara.

The distribution is to be handled by the (11) man committee headed by Malam Hamza Abubakar.

A total of 68 communities consisting of 21,075 households will benefit with a total of 3900 bags of Maize.

According the chairman, the beneficiaries cut across religious devices as instructed by the donor Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar.

According to the committee Chairman, former Governor Yari has considered the social condition of the people emanating from the removal of fuel subsidy by the current administration.

He assured that, the committee will be just and fair in the discharge of their duties.

He called on people to give them maximum support and cooperation in the discharged of their duty in order to achieve the desire success.

(31) PEOPLE DIES, (274) SUSTAIN INJURIES IN ADAMAWA ROAD CRASHES.

The Federal Road Safety Corp Adamawa state command has revealed that a total of (31) people died as a result of various road crashes within the state.

The statistics also showed that, a total of (274) people also sustained various degree of injuries as a result of the road crashes.

The Adamawa sector command also recorded (126) various road crashes involving (548) passengers within the period under review.

The statistics covered a period of January to July 2023.

The sector commandant of the state, Mr. Yelwa Dio when he interacted with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

He attributed the road crashes to over-loading, over speeding and making telephone calls while driving.
