POLICE BLAMES VIGILANTE FOR KILLING SIX PERSONS IN ZAMFARA

Zamfara state police command has accused the members of the organized vigilante of indiscriminate firing of gunshots which resulted in the killing six persons.

According to the statement by the police spokesperson ASP Yazeed Muhammad he stated that, on the 28th of June 2023,the District Head of Kwatarkwashi Alh Bello Umar reported to the police a suspicious movement of numerous unidentified armed men suspected to be members of Yansakai (local armed volunteer group) who later invaded Kadamutsawa village under the district.

Yazeed stated in the statement that, apart from killing of six persons in the operation, the bandits injured four other ones and they were rushed to the Kwatarkwashi primary health care center.

He also added that, one of the injured individuals died while on admission at the primary health care center.

“On receiving the information, the DPO Kotorkoshi Division led the Strike Force of the Division in collaboration with the military personnel to the scene and on sighting the Operatives, the hoodlums escaped, but the police is doing everything possible to fish out the culprits and bring them to justice soon” the statement added.

“The command is appealing to the relatives of the affected victims to continue to exercise patience and allow the authorities to handle the situation”.

“The Commissioner of Police, CP. Mohammed Bunu has assured the good people of the state that, the spade of senseless killings in Zamfara state must stop as the federal government is determined and working assiduously to restore peace in every part of the country”.

“In furtherance of the above, the Zamfara state police command sternly warns everyone to give peace a chance. Any further attempts at such killings would attract the full wrath of the law in the state”.

“Members of the public are enjoined to go about their normal business and continue to avail the police with the useful information to the police to nip troubles in the bud”.

SEN. YARI DONATES (13) TRUCKS OF MAIZE TO PEOPLE OF TALATAR MAFARA

Former Governor of Zamfara state and Senator representing Zamfara West, Hon. Dr. Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar (Shattiman Zamfara) has secured (13) trucks of Maize containing (3900) bags for distribution to his immediate community of Talatar Mafara.

The distribution is to be handled by the (11) man committee headed by Malam Hamza Abubakar.

A total of 68 communities consisting of 21,075 households will benefit with a total of 3900 bags of Maize.

According the chairman, the beneficiaries cut across religious devices as instructed by the donor Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar.

According to the committee Chairman, former Governor Yari has considered the social condition of the people emanating from the removal of fuel subsidy by the current administration.

He assured that, the committee will be just and fair in the discharge of their duties.

He called on people to give them maximum support and cooperation in the discharged of their duty in order to achieve the desire success.

(31) PEOPLE DIES, (274) SUSTAIN INJURIES IN ADAMAWA ROAD CRASHES.

The Federal Road Safety Corp Adamawa state command has revealed that a total of (31) people died as a result of various road crashes within the state.

The statistics also showed that, a total of (274) people also sustained various degree of injuries as a result of the road crashes.

The Adamawa sector command also recorded (126) various road crashes involving (548) passengers within the period under review.

The statistics covered a period of January to July 2023.

The sector commandant of the state, Mr. Yelwa Dio when he interacted with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

He attributed the road crashes to over-loading, over speeding and making telephone calls while driving.
