The chairman of the Zamfara State taskforce on petroleum products, Barr. Abdirashid Haruna has warned that henceforth no security agent shall come to the filling station with jerrycans for supply of petroleum products without a written letter from the superior authorities.
The taskforce chairman handed down the order to all the filling stations in Gusau after receiving complaints about the excesses of some security personals taking advantage of their uniforms to be smuggling petroleum products through jerrycans for another purpose.
He said any security outfit who demanded for the petroleum products shall write a letter to the management of the filing stations stating clear reasons why the petroleum product shall be released via jerrycans.
He assured that his committee will work harder to ensure that petroleum products supplied to Zamfara are distributed and sold at the agreed price.
During the inspection of some filing stations, he, however, warned the management of Yahaya Motors to revert their price back to the approved (N230) per liter.
Some filing stations visited by the taskforce include NNPC Mega station, Abanurat, A. Y. M Shafa, A. A. Rano (1&2) and matrix filling station among others.
