Former Chairman of the house committee on security Aminu Sani Jaji has called on the new Commissioner of Police Zamfara State to partner with traditional institutions and came up with a new initiative of inquiring about the movement of those travelling from the North to the Southern part of Nigeria in search of livelihood.
Mr Jaji who declared this during an exclusive interview with Thunder Blowers Online News Medium said coming up with the initiative is critical considering how some youths pretends going to the Southern part of the country and later ended up reuniting with the bandits in the forest.
“If we have other intelligent informants in Lagos and other part of the Southern States they would be contacted from time to time on the movement of those who leaves the North to the Southern part of the country and if after inquiry a person is confirmed to be not where he said he was going his where about should then be traced by the security agencies” Jaji added.
He added that, “the Majority of them used to pretend to go to the Southern part of the country but later ended up in the bandits camp sharing intelligent information about people in their domain”.
He said this aspect of criminal acts should be monitored carefully hence he will write a comprehensive strategy paper to the new Police Commissioner, the Governor and Chairman of Zamfara State Council of Chief Alh. Attahiru Muhammad Ahmad for consideration.
He said until people come together and support the fight against banditry the security situation in the state may not be contained soonest.
