ZAMFARA APGA GUBERNATORIAL CANDIDATE CALLS FOR ARREST AND PROSECUTION OF AMINU JAJI, MALAM IBRAHIM WAKKALA AND BASHIR ADAMU IMAD OVER LEAKED AUDIO
A member of the security committe set up by Governor Bello Matawalle Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi has described the circulation of the purported leaked audio connected to the former IGP of police Muhammad Abubakar as an act of mischief making saying the audio is fake.
Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi who was the immediate past gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) in the 2019 general election noted that some desperate politicians who want to demonstrate their enemity for the state are fully behind the circulation of the fake audio.
He noted that their committee which is an ad-hoc one was inaugurated with a time frame adding that, the committee has executed it’s assignment excellently in line with the terms and references of their appointment saying, it is the pre-rogative of the Governor to either implement or reject the recommendations of the committee.
He noted that to the best of his knowledge if not because of the Covid-19 pandemic the Judicial Commission of Inquiry to investigate those indicted by their committee would have been inaugurated adding that, when the commission was inaugurated people of Zamfara will understand who the enemies of Zamfara are.
He alleged that, former Chairman of the House Committee on Security and Intelligence Aminu Sani Jaji as the alleged sole brain behind the circulation of the fake audio clip noting that, everyone in Zamfara knows that Jaji is a desperate politicians who wants to climb to power by all means without mincing the history of his political carrier as someone who starts his politics as sole administrator and want to transform suddenly to a Governor of Zamfara.
He also alleged that, one Abu Dantabawa is accused of being part of this deadly mission of spreading the leaked fake audio for the attainment of political interest best known to them.
He said the intention of the sponsors of the audio clip for was to bring Zamfara back to the olden days of darkness when kidnapping, abduction and killings were the order of the day.
He faulted same Aminu Jaji for failing to act and make case for Zamfara state while he was the Chairman of the House Committee on Security and intelligence but now that he want to become a Governor by all means he want to ignite tension in the state saying, the security personals especially the CP should not allow an act of lawlessness allegedly perpetrated by Jaji and his political allies to take over the state.
He alleged, it is surprising that, in the clip an allegation was made against the former IGP that an Emir bribed the former him with 11 million naira to compromise the outcome of their investigation adding that the allegation is not only laughable but childish which shall be investigated by the government.
He also described as laughable the allegation that, a PDP chieftain in Zamfara was caught with arms in his personal residence saying every body in Zamfara knows who the sponsors of the armed banditry were.
Wambai added that it was on record that one former member of the state House of assembly who was a card carrying member of the APC was caught red handed with arms and ammunitions in his residence and the former Governor Yari was silent on the matter.
He said the Governor has done well in restoring peace when compared to the old situation noting that everyone knows that security has improved significantly.
“He alleged that in Shinkafi alone where he cames from 280 million naira were paid in eight years as ransom, 1,300 people were killed, 6,500 children were rendered orphans noting that, if Matawalle can be able to restore relative peace within one year, there is no reason why he shall allow some heartless politicians to drag Zamfara State back”.
“He said the Governor has done perfectly well in moving Zamfara forward. Adding that from education, health and other critical areas of human development adding that his party APGA will remain supportive of the Matawalle led government if he continues the way he is going”.
He called on the DG SSS to immediately withdraw the SSS attached to Jaji considering the manners at which he is using them to harass and intimidate people and instead he said Jaji should apply to the IGP for security protection.
He called on Zamfara CP to order for an immediate investigation of Almansoor the Director New Media to the immediate past Governor of Zamfara for committing a cyber crimes and circulating fake news.
Wamban Shinkafi further called on the IGP, DG SSS, Chief of Army Staff to invite Aminu Sani Jaji, Malam Ibrahim Wakkala and Bashir Adamu IMAD for questioning hence their names featured in the audio.
