ZAMFARA APGA GUBERNATORIAL CANDIDATE PETITIONS EFCC OVER ALLEGED MISMANAGEMENT OF N261, 121,280:00 BY IMMEDIATE PAST COMMISSINER FOR ENV. & SOLID MINERALS
The former gubernatorial candidate of All Progressive Grand Alliance APGA
Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi has again petitioned the Economic and Financial Crimea Commission EFCC to investigate the allegation of corrupt mismanagement ofN261, 121,280:00 by the officials of the State Ministry of Environment and Solid Minerals during the immediate past administration of Governor Yari.
In a petition by Sani Shinkafi a copy which was obtained by Thunder Blowers Online News Medium the petitoner noted that, Zamfara State Government awarded contract to the Shenzhen and Mineral Limited to carryout mineral exploration in two (2) phase.
On the breakdown of the cost of the minerals exploration as awarded by the State government under Yari, Shinkafi noted that:
A)Phase 1: Mobilization at Maru, Wanu and Damri Sites 2012

B)Phase II:
Minerals exploration project in Damri, Wanu and Maru in 2014
#100,967,280:00K
TOTAL COST OF THE CONTRACT SUM
#261,121,280:00
He alleges that, he cost of the project was fully paid 100% to the contractor and that the contractor refused to mobilize to the site of the project to commence the mineral exploration as contained in the contract agreement signed with Ministry of Justice on behalf of Zamfara State Government and he vanished for the past eight years he is no where to be found.
“There was total breach of the contractual agreement on the side of the contractor.
It is against this premise i have been encouraged to present this petition to the commission to investigate and prosecute the reckless looting of the treasury of Zamfara State by the contractor in collaboration with some government officials the sum of Two Hundred and Sixty one Million, One Hundred and Twenty one Thousand, Two Hundred and Eighty Naira Only. (N261,121,280:00),
I therefore implored the commission to recover the money paid to the company for non-performance of the work” Shinkafi added.
He urged the commission to invite the former commissioner for environment and solid minerals to invite Honourable Mukhtar Muhammad Lugga who served from period of 2012 to 2014 for questioning for his role in the award of the contract before his redeployment.
“Section 192 (1) of the Constitution of the Federal Republuc Of Nigeria provides for appointment of State Commissioners.
The main objectives is to enable the Head of the executive branch of government to appoint some citizens of the State to assists him in the onerous task of governance. In this regard the Former commissioner for the ministry of environment and solid minerals has compromised his official oath of office by his allowing his personal interest to influence with his official conduct and official decisions” Shinkafi added.
He also urged the Commission to invite the following government officials to make written Statement in the course of investigations.
(A) Former Permanent Secretary who was posted to the ministry of enviroment and solid minerals from 2012 to 2014 to verify the claims
(B) Director solid minerals
(C) Director of finance and supply as at that time.
He added that, if the petition is properly investigated and prosecuted diligently will assure the good people of Zamfara State the commissions willingness to fight corruption that is devoid of party.
