Nigerian Medical Association Zamfara State chapter has commended the administration of Governor Bello Matawalle for allocating a total of N12.98 billion naira which represents 9% of the total budgetary allocation of the year 2021.
The commendation is contained in a statement signed by the secretary of the association Dr. Sanusi Bello which was issued to journalists in Gusau on Tuesday.
He said N12.98 billion naira allocated to the health sector by Matawalle led government is then highest allocation made to the health sector since the creation of the state noting that the provision is in tandem with the reality of the government’s effort of fighting Covid-19 pandemic.
Sanusi further said NMA and all other stakeholders in the health sector are satisfied with the direction of Matawalle’s government in reviving the health sector.
He also said the union has commended the effort of the state government for establishing one of the best Covid-19 Isolation center as well as revival of infectious diseases centers across the state.
The union further commended the effort of the Matawalle led government for upgrading and expansion of Yarima Bakura Specialist Hospital as well as construction of 147 PHC’s across all the poling wards in the state.
