Members of Zamfara State Executive Council (SEC) of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) have appointed a new acting State Chairman Comr. Bello Muhammadu Boko with effect from Monday the 22nd February 2021.
The decision followed a notice of transfer of the substantive state chairman of the council Abdulrazaq Bello Kaura from Pride FM Gusau Zamfara State to Royal FM Sokoto, Sokoto State.
In a statement by the Assistant Secretary Nasiru Aula Dabbakal said the decision was taken in order to avoid any leadership vacumm created by the transfer.
“It is hereby notified that the Vice-chairman, Comrade Bello Muhammad Boko will serve as acting chairman pending a by-election that will bring in a new and substantive chairman” the statement added.
Aula said, the members of the SEC have assured ta good working relationship with Zamfara State government.
“The union also wishes to reiterate its appreciation to our caring governor, Hon. Bello Matawallen Maradun Shatiman Sokoto for his support to our members and the union and stress that we will continue to support the Matawalle-led administration especially in the fight against armed banditry through his peace accord and dialogue initiative”
