ZAMFARA PENSION FUNDS REFUND: OVER 900 MILLION SAVED IN ALTERNATIVE STERLING BANK ACCOUNT

Pension funds deducted but not remitted to pension fund administrators have been saved in an alternative Sterling bank account after an order was secured from the State House of Assembly instructing the stoppage of the deduction.


Panelists at the thunder blowers TV programme Tirka Tirka agreed to this declaration on Sunday while explaining issues related to crises in contributory pension deduction.


The panelists are Mansur Mustapha Kaura who is the Chairman of the Trade Union Congress, Yusuf Abdullahi Bakura a permanent Secretary office of the head of service, Comrade Bitrus D. Gyang and Comrade Abdullahi Umar Modomawa a former NLC Chairman in the state.


The reasons advanced for the opening of the alternative account to domicile the fund was simply to secure the money from allegedly being mismanaged by the immediate past government of Abdulazeez Yari since the recovery was made toward the end of his tenure.


It was also confirmed that, the signatories of the accounts included a representative of the office of the head of service of Zamfara, and representatives of the two labour unions namely NLC and TUC.


Permanent Secretary office of the Head of Service Alh Yusuf Abdullahi Bakura said the decision was in the best interest of protecting the savings of the state civil servants.


Giving the breakdown of the fund saved in the account, the panelists agreed that, State Universal Basic Education Board has the largest shares of about N700 million naira while the rest of the state government agencies saved over 200 million naira.


But it was not clear where the savings of the Mass Education Commission and Yariman Bakura Specialists Hospitals was domiciled.

Former Governor of Zamfara state and Senator representing Zamfara West, Hon. Dr. Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar (Shattiman Zamfara) has secured (13) trucks of Maize containing (3900) bags for distribution to his immediate community of Talatar Mafara.

The distribution is to be handled by the (11) man committee headed by Malam Hamza Abubakar.

A total of 68 communities consisting of 21,075 households will benefit with a total of 3900 bags of Maize.

According the chairman, the beneficiaries cut across religious devices as instructed by the donor Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar.

According to the committee Chairman, former Governor Yari has considered the social condition of the people emanating from the removal of fuel subsidy by the current administration.

He assured that, the committee will be just and fair in the discharge of their duties.

He called on people to give them maximum support and cooperation in the discharged of their duty in order to achieve the desire success.

(31) PEOPLE DIES, (274) SUSTAIN INJURIES IN ADAMAWA ROAD CRASHES.

The Federal Road Safety Corp Adamawa state command has revealed that a total of (31) people died as a result of various road crashes within the state.

The statistics also showed that, a total of (274) people also sustained various degree of injuries as a result of the road crashes.

The Adamawa sector command also recorded (126) various road crashes involving (548) passengers within the period under review.

The statistics covered a period of January to July 2023.

The sector commandant of the state, Mr. Yelwa Dio when he interacted with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

He attributed the road crashes to over-loading, over speeding and making telephone calls while driving.
