Zamfara State Government has set aside up to 90 million naira counter part fund meant to support development partners that are willing to invest in to the educational development of the state.
Executive Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board Aliyu Abubakar Maradun dropped the hint at the flagg off of distribution of schools grant to the children of the poor held at the Palace of the Emir of Maradun on Monday.
The chairman said, the step taken is to show the readiness and commitment of the state government in renewing its partnership with the development partners who are willing to support the on going reform of the education sector of the state.
He noted that the state is now more receptive to donor agencies and development partners unlike before when there are backlog of unfulfilled promises which demoralized the donor and pushed them out of the state
The Chairman who commended the UNICEF for its continued support to the state declared that, arrangement has been concluded for the establishment of Special Science Secondary Schools across the State with a view to training competent science students.
He called on the beneficiaries to compliment the effort of the government and indeed the donor agencies by continue to support the government policies and programmes at all time.
Earlier, the Emir of Maradun Alh Garba Muhammad Tambari commended the state government and indeed the UNICEF for the support and expressed his readiness to welcome such initiatives that will enhance and develop education in the state.
