Zamfara new Commissioner for works Rabiu Garba has assumed office on Wednesday.
The Commissioner who was in company of hundreds of associates and political supporters was received on arrival by the permanent Secretary in the Ministry Alh Ahmad Garba Gusau
The Commissioner who was overwhelmed by the reception accorded him said his tenure would work toward enhancing transport sub-sector by making sure that government has procured brand-new buses for the State mass transit.
He also assured that, he would work harder to make sure that all the funds generated by the State mass transit are remitted to the treasury of the State.
He also assured that he would work towards transforming the operation of the State Vehicle Inspection Officers (VIO) with the sole aim of boosting the state internally generated revenue.
The Commissioner also informed his staff that part of his agenda in the ministry is to ensure proper monitoring of how contractors handled state government contracts and make sure that all contracts are executed in line with the approved specifications.
He described his redeployment to the Ministry for works as an opportunity to gather more experience and also face new challenges in life.
He sought for the cooperation of all and sundry for him to succeed.
He later proceeded to the state ministry of budget and economic planning, where he handed over the affairs of the ministry to the newly posted commissioner Aliyu Tukur ES.
