ZMSG TO PUNISH PRINCIPALS WHO FAILS TO REGISTER CANDIDATES FOR WAEC/NECO

Principals and other heads of government senior schools in who deliberately omits any students from WAEC/NECO  will not go unfinished hence Zamfara State Government is committed to ensuring all inclusive participation in accessing education by all the state citizens.


State Commissioner for Education Ibrahim Abdullahi Spirow stated this when he granted audience to the state chapter of Nigerian Association of Teachers of Arabic and Islamic Studies (NATAIS), who paid him a courtesy visit in his office on Thursday.


The commissioner who expressed happiness with the visit assured the state leadership of the association that the ministry under his watch will continue to accord priority to religion and culture of people of Zamfara State especially on issues related to education.


He also assured the members of the association that the state Ministry of Education will continue to partner with NATAIS to enhance the capacity of Teachers of Arabic and Islamic Studies in Zamfara State.


He also said, his ministry will take stringent measures for Schools that refused to comply with national policy in nrespect of registering/offering of Arabic or Islamic Studies by SS 3 Students.


He also assured them that, his ministry will also compile list of all teachers of Arabic and Islamic studies for registration with NATAIS.

Mr Spirow also assured them that soonest he will facilitate a meeting between them and State Governor so that they can interact with him for the progress of the association.


Earlier in his remarks, the Chairman of the association Dr. Bawa Muhammad Anka commended the commissioner for his tireless effort of moving education forward in the state.

ZAMFARA WOMEN AFFAIRS COMMISSIONER HAILS AFFIRMATION OF AISHA BINANI AS APC GOVERNORSHIP CANDIDATE FOR ADAMAWA

The Zamfara State Commissioner for Women and Children Affairs, Hajiya Zainab Lawal Gummi has hailed the verdict of the Court of Appeal which affirms the valid candidature of Sen. Aisha Binani as the APC gubernatorial candidate for the Adamawa state in the 2023 election.

According to the statement by the Spokesperson of the Ministry Sulaiman Isah, the Commissioner described the judgment as a victory for democracy and rule of law.

The statement further stated that, the court of Appeal verdict has further strengthened the hope of the Nigerian people that courts in Nigeria remain the last hope of the common people.

She congratulated the women of Adamawa state for having Sen. Binani as the gubernatorial candidate, noting that Aisha will do everything possible to improve their standard if elected as the Governor.

The commissioner congratulated the senator for her victory and advised her to take the issue of women and children seriously if she succeeds in becoming the governor of Adamawa state.

ZAMFARA POLICE RESCUE (1) OLD BABY & (6) WOMEN FROM ABDUCTORS

Zamfara state police command has announced the rescue of six women and one year old boy who were kidnapped at Kadamutsa village in Zurmi local government area of the state.

According to the police command Public Relations  Officer in Zamfara SP Shehu Muhammad, the rescue was successful after the police operatives in collaboration with the local vigilante stormed the suspected location where the abductees were hosted.

“Police operatives mobilized to the location where a search and rescue operation was conducted  along Zurmi – Jibiya axis, leading to the unconditional rescue of all the victims  unhurt”.

Shehu said the victims were debriefed and handed over to their relations after they were medically examined

The Commissioner of Police, CP Kolo Yusuf while commending the Police operatives and vigilante for the successful rescue operation, congratulates the victims for regaining their freedom, and reiterates the determination of the police command in riding the state of criminal activities and apprehend criminal elements committing heinous crimes across the state.

LIBERTY TV VETERAN JOURNALIST BASHIR BABA DIES

A Veteran journalist and Analyst for various radio and television stations, Bashir Mohammed Baba is death.

He died in the early hours of Friday in Abuja as a result of injuries from complications from domestic accidents in his bathroom.

Bashir Baba an experienced journalist of over four decades which began with NTA, is one of the analysts of BBC, VOA, DW-Radio as well as Prestige Radio, Minna flagship programme, ‘Kasar Mu a Yau’ as well as Idon Mikiya programme of Farin Wata Television/Vision FM.

He anchored flagship programmes at Liberty Television programme. He was also Senior Assistant Media ( Foreign Affairs ministry) under Ambassador Aminu Bashir Wali.

Late Bashir Baba, will be buried later on Saturday in Wudil Kano State.
