Repentant bandits’ leader Amadu Katare has declared that, extra-judicial killings of his parents, wife and many children by members of the vigilante group forced him to join armed bandit activities.

Amadu Katare who declared this during a reception organized in honor of their surrender for peace said governments at all levels should wake up to protect and defend the lives of the Fulani herdsmen because they are being mercilessly killed by members of vigilante groups in the forest.

He said they have decided to embrace the peace process as a result of the way and manner the Governor is handling the process with sincerity and commitment. 


He added that, since the coming of Matawalle’s administration and the introduction of the peace initiative, they have been following to see if it was the usual game of deceit but later realized that the governor is out to do justice to every citizen of the state. 

Zamfara State Police Commissioner Abutu Yaro on his own part said the reconciliation by the state government and effort made to disarm the repentant bandits is yielding a positive result.


In a statement by Governor’s Director General on Press Affairs Malam Yusuf Idris said the command will continue to use kinetic and non-kinetic methods in the fight against banditry and other criminalities in the state.

SEN. YARI DONATES (13) TRUCKS OF MAIZE TO PEOPLE OF TALATAR MAFARA

Former Governor of Zamfara state and Senator representing Zamfara West, Hon. Dr. Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar (Shattiman Zamfara) has secured (13) trucks of Maize containing (3900) bags for distribution to his immediate community of Talatar Mafara.

The distribution is to be handled by the (11) man committee headed by Malam Hamza Abubakar.

A total of 68 communities consisting of 21,075 households will benefit with a total of 3900 bags of Maize.

According the chairman, the beneficiaries cut across religious devices as instructed by the donor Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar.

According to the committee Chairman, former Governor Yari has considered the social condition of the people emanating from the removal of fuel subsidy by the current administration.

He assured that, the committee will be just and fair in the discharge of their duties.

He called on people to give them maximum support and cooperation in the discharged of their duty in order to achieve the desire success.

(31) PEOPLE DIES, (274) SUSTAIN INJURIES IN ADAMAWA ROAD CRASHES.

The Federal Road Safety Corp Adamawa state command has revealed that a total of (31) people died as a result of various road crashes within the state.

The statistics also showed that, a total of (274) people also sustained various degree of injuries as a result of the road crashes.

The Adamawa sector command also recorded (126) various road crashes involving (548) passengers within the period under review.

The statistics covered a period of January to July 2023.

The sector commandant of the state, Mr. Yelwa Dio when he interacted with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

He attributed the road crashes to over-loading, over speeding and making telephone calls while driving.
