The Inspector General of Police Muhammad Adamu has commissioned the newly constructed Police Area Office in Shinkafi local government area of Zamfara State.
At the ceremony held on Monday, the State Police Commissioner CP Abutu Yaro who stood in for the IGP said the project is part of the commitment of the Nigerian Police Force and indeed the Federal Government of providing a conducive working environment for officers and men of the Nigerian Police Force.
In a statement by the police spokesperson SP Shehu Muhammad said, the CP called on officers and men of the Area Command to make judicious use of the office and infrastructures provided I’m ensuring the safety of the people of the area.
He further enjoined the communities to appreciate the gesture by supporting the Police and other security agencies in their commitment to overcome the security challenges bedeviling the people of the area.
In a vote of thanks, the Sole Administrator of Shinkafi local government Alhaji Abubakar Galadima thanked the Nigeria Police for the construction of a new Area Command office in his domain, and assured the IGP that the people of the area will continue to assist the security agencies in finding lasting peace in the state.
In a related development, the State Police Commissioner later addressed officers and men of Shinkafi Area Command as well as the division including special constabulary recruited recently.
The CP also met with stakeholders at the Palace of Emir of Shinkafi where critical issues concerning community policing and the need for synergy between the Nigerian police and community were discussed.
Similarly, the State Police Commissioner visited Zurmi divisional police office where he also addressed officer and men of the division before he proceeded to pay a courtesy visit to the Emir of Zurmi Alhaji Atiku Abubakar in his palace.
He thanked the monarch and people of his emirate for working in strong partnership with the police and other security agencies to ensure peace and security of the area and urged them to continue to do more.
