Suspected kidnappers demanded for the payment of 100 million naira as ransom before the release of a Director with the State Hospital Management Board who was abducted last week in Kanoma village of Maru local government area of Zamfara State.
The kidnappers who spoke to the family of the victim through a mobile phone in the early hours of Monday, said they are demanding for one hundred million naira from the family as ransom.
According to a family member, Muhammad kanoma who spoke with the newsmen in Gusau said, “the kidnappers have called in the early hours of today they requested for the ransom of 100 million naira but we informed them we don’t have such huge amount of money.
He said they have bargained for how much the family can offer but the family insisted, they don’t have money available to offer.
He said the abductors insisted that, they should have a rethink as they will call back and inquire on what decision the family have taken.
It could be recall that, seven days back some suspected kidnappers invaded Kanoma community of Maru local government area of Zamfara state and kidnapped 5 persons including the Director.
The other 4 kidnapped victims abducted together with the Director in kanoma town are family members of the former clerk to Zamfara State house of Assembly.
