Speaker of Zamfara State House of Assembly Nasiru Muazu Magarya has on Monday led a state government delegation to inspect the temporary and permanent site of the proposed School of Nursing and Midwifery in Zurmi local government area of the State.
According to the statement by the Director General Press Affairs to the State House of Assembly Mustapha Jafaru Kaura said, the visit is for the delegation to conduct on the spot assessment of the location and facilities required to ensure proper take off of the newly proposed institution.
Speaker Magarya said, locating the proposed school of nursing in Zurmi which is in Zamfara North is carefully done by Governor Bello Matawalle considering the strategic importance of the zone to the political development of the state
He noted that, when the school properly take off, it will surely help in reducing the deficit of human resource for health which has been a lingering issue bordering the state hence the existing school of nursing in Gusau cannot provide what is needed for the state to meet up with its human resource needs.
He commended the level of preparedness of the planning Committee set up by Zurmi Emirate under the leadership of Ishaqa Muhammad Zurmi and assured them of the state government readiness to provide all that are needed as at when requested.
In a remark, Zurmi Local Government Sole Administrator Alh Awal Bawa Moriki commended the initiative of the state government for according this unique opportunity to the people of Zurmi and promised to do all that are needed to ensure that the school has properly take off.
On his own part the Emir of Zamfaran Zurmi Alh Abubakar Atiku commended the Speaker for taking the lead of establishing and locating the school in Zurmi saying, he has demonstrated a sign of good representation.
The Monarch who could not hide his joy for having the new school of nursing in his emirate commended Governor Bello Matawalle for honoring his people saying, people of Zurmi will never betray his government.
