The Independent National Electoral Commission INEC has declared the bye election for Bakura State House of Assembly election as inconclusive.
The Presiding Officer for the constituency Prof. Ibrahim Magawata who declared this on Sunday said the total number of votes cancelled which are about 11,000 added with the lead merging which is just 2,180 votes the election cannot be declared conclusive hence there is need for re-run to determines the final winner.
Magawata said, the decision taken by the INEC is in line with the laid down rules and regulations of the electoral guidelines and that a new date for the re-run would be announced for the parties to get prepared.
The State Commissioner for Finance Rabiu Garba who served as the PDP agent at the INEC collation center told news men that PDP is ready to go back to the affected polling units and deliver Bakura to their candidate T. Tukur and commended Bakura people for their tireless support to the party.
